Is the StormGenie Design Tool free to use?
Yes, the tool is completely free. Some features require a free account, but there are no charges for using the tool or accessing its full capabilities.
Do I need an account to use the CULTEC StormGenie Design Tool?
No account is needed to access and use the basic features of the CULTEC StormGenie Design Tool. However, to unlock the full functionality—such as saving and loading projects, adding background images, and receiving CAD and PDF drawings—you’ll need to create a free account.
Which internet browser or device works best with the StormGenie Design Tool?
For the best experience, we recommend using the StormGenie Design Tool on a laptop or desktop computer with a Chromium-based browser. Supported browsers include Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, and others built on the Chromium platform.
Is the StormGenie available in other languages?
Yes. The StormGenie is available in English US, French Canadian, and Spanish.
How do I change the unit of measure or language?
Start by selecting your country to set default preferences:
USA: Defaults to English and Imperial units. You can switch to Spanish by clicking the language option, and change to Metric units by selecting the unit of measure.
Canada: Defaults to English and Metric units. You can switch to French Canadian by clicking the language option, and change to Imperial units by selecting the unit of measure.
These settings help tailor the design experience to your regional standards and language preferences.
How long are my saved designs stored in StormGenie?
Saved designs are stored indefinitely within your StormGenie account, allowing you to revisit and update projects at any time. However, as the tool evolves and design standards are updated, older projects may require adjustments to remain compatible with the latest features and guidelines.
Please note: Download links sent via email are valid for one calendar year from the date of issue. After that, you’ll need to access your design directly through your account.
Can I collaborate with others on a design?
While StormGenie doesn’t currently support real-time collaboration, you can share exported files (CAD or PDF) with colleagues or clients for review and feedback. In addition, our Technical Services can help refine your designs.
Design Features
What can I do with the StormGenie Design Tool?
The StormGenie Design Tool allows you to create customized stormwater management systems using CULTEC chambers. You can design site-specific layouts, calculate storage capacities, generate CAD and PDF drawings, and incorporate background images for context. The tool also supports saving and loading projects for easy management.
Can I customize the layout of my stormwater system?
Yes. You can adjust chamber placement, add manifolds, and modify system dimensions to suit your site layout and design goals in AutoCAD once you receive the exported CAD designs.
Can I insert a site background image into my design?
Yes. You can upload a background image to help visualize your system layout in context. This feature is available to users with a free account.
Can I download my design as a CAD or PDF file?
Yes. Once you’ve created a design, you can export it as a CAD or PDF file. This feature requires a free account.
How can I export my designs?
To export your drawings and reports, click Email Drawing & Reports located at the top of the screen. Alternately, go to the left-hand section of the screen, go to Drawings & Reports, click Email Drawing & Reports. You must have an account to export your drawing package.
Can I use the tool to calculate storage volumes?
Absolutely. The StormGenie Design Tool automatically calculates storage capacities based on your design inputs, helping ensure compliance with site-specific stormwater requirements.
